Join NYCB Principal Dancer and world-renowned educator Daniel Ulbricht, alongside Magnus, photographer at MAGNUS PHOTOGRAPHY, for an exclusive photoshoot experience designed to capture your very best as a dancer.
PROJECTING POTENTIAL is designed to reveal not just your technique, but your artistry — the individuality, emotion, and promise that set you apart.
Daniel will personally pose, coach, and choreograph each participant — ensuring that every position, line, and moment reflects your individuality. Together, Daniel and Magnus will create audition-perfect images and dynamic choreography photos that will make you stand out.
WHAT TO EXPECT THAT DAY
Each PROJECTING POTENTIAL photoshoot session includes 45 minutes of dedicated studio time, divided into two creative parts.

🩰 PART 1 - AUDITION PHOTOS
Daniel will select and coach your individual audition poses, ensuring each is technically correct and photographically refined.
Typical audition photos include:
•Headshot
•Arabesque
•Tendu à la seconde
•Fourth position (en demi-pointe or en pointe)

Additional poses may include à la seconde en l’air or parallel side-facing positions — depending on your specific program requirements.
Typically, up to eight audition poses are completed during the session.
🩰 PART 2 - FREE CHOREOGRAPHY - THE HEART OF PROJECTING POTENTIAL
This is the exciting and expressive part — where artistry takes center stage!
In this section, Daniel will choreograph custom poses and sequences based on your strengths and level, capturing the freedom and joy of movement.

that will highlight your energy, confidence, and stage presence.

This is your chance to let go, move, and truly project your potential.
(If your audition photo section is shorter, your choreography time will be longer. The total studio time is still 50min including outfit/shoe changes.)
💰 SESSION COST — $550 PER DANCER
Your session includes:
•45 minutes of studio time with Daniel and Magnus (including outfit and shoe changes)
•Personalized coaching and pose direction from Daniel for your audition photos
•Custom choreography created by Daniel for your free choreography session
•Professional photography, retouching, and color correction
•Digital delivery of at least 8 full-resolution audition images* — a $240 value included in your session
•Private online gallery for digital downloads and to order prints (from $15)

•Leotard: Plain leotard (solid color; no lace, skirts, or multiple straps — darker tones photograph best)
•Tights: Pink or skin-tone (bring a spare pair!)
•Shoes: Clean ballet flats and broken-in pointe shoes.*
•Hair: Neat, tight bun — no ribbons, scrunchies, or clips.

•Tights: Pink or skin-tone (bring a spare pair!)

•Leotard: Optional leotard change; any color is fine what you feel most comfortable
•Skirt: Please feel free to bring tulle skirt, or romantic/platter tutu, a free flowing fabric, be creative.
•Hair: may remain up or be styled down for variety.
•Accessories or ribbons may be added for creative flair.
